Archaeological Monitoring of the New Parking Lot at The Forks

Monitoring of backhoe excavations for construction did not yield any heritage objects, but did enable the recording of buried soil horizons, indicating periods of soil formation between flood episodes. Correlation with previously recorded profiles indicates zones of potential impact for future developments in the area.

Excavation of Flagpole Base at The Forks NHS

This memo discusses the monitoring of auger hole excavations for the installation of a flagpole base (east of the Manitoba Childrens Museum). No archaeological materials were encountered.

Heritage Resources Monitoring for the Reconstruction of the Norwood and Main Street Bridges (1996 - 1998)

Monitoring of reconstruction activities consisted of observation of the extent of impact. No artifacts or evidence of cultural occupation were observed, save remnants of previous construction, which were not curated.

Monitoring Report, Festival Park Development, Phase I, Forks National Historic Site.

This report discusses method and observations for the monitoring of excavations for the installation of a walkway with lighting (at the north end of the Festival Park). Excavations went no deeper than the Railroad Period (1888-1988) fill, and no archaeological materials were recovered.
